dummy book 30*36cm, handbound, offset, not yet published

This unconventional collection of images captured during my time abroad in the incredibly vast country of America, depicts unfamiliar surroundings, all of which made me feel oddly at home. I explore how that feeling of home manifests in people, places, and even objects. The book pursues the desire to attach a feeling of significance to overlooked people, liminal places, peculiar events, and endeavors to reflect a certain kind of intimacy between the subject and the onlooking surroundings, including myself as a witness. This particular sequence of images attempts to relay a sense of the passing of time in the mixture of locations, which were subject to my spectatorship. Wide open to interpretation, new stories can begin to form in the minds of the ones observing the disparity of the images opposing one another.
